From Brazil to U.S. Citizenship: A Journey of Resilience, Freedom, and Growth

At the Oath Ceremony!

I don’t know if you saw my post last week on LinkedIn and Instagram, but I am now officially an American citizen! It marks one of the biggest milestones in my journey - one filled with challenges, growth, and countless moments of reflection (if you know me, you know haha). As an immigrant, every step I’ve taken has been driven by a deep desire for freedom: the freedom to own my schedule, to build a life on my terms, and to stay connected with the people I love, no matter the distance.

This moment isn’t just about a new passport or legal status; it’s about the years of hard work, adaptation, and believing in the vision of the life I wanted to create. It’s a reminder that every challenge I faced along the way shaped me into the person I am today. And while I celebrate this achievement, I know that growth never stops - there’s always another chapter to write.

Growing up in Brazil, I dreamed of building something meaningful - something that gave me freedom, creativity, and the ability to stay connected with the people I love, no matter where they were in the world, and that was made possible through the power of social media.

Why This Moment Matters

As I said, becoming a U.S. citizen isn’t just a legal status. It’s the culmination of years of resilience, adaptability, and commitment to my vision. It means having the freedom to continue growing my business, The Social Lab, on my terms. The opportunity was not truly be given to me, but I decided to take the leap and deal with the consequences of my choices.

It also reinforced something I deeply believe in: every experience we go through shapes us. Every challenge, every win, every unexpected twist in our journey contributes to the person we become. I was watching one of Tony Robbins seminars, and if you have ever had the chance to watch something from him, you know the power it holds. And for those who are not quite putting the name to the face, who of you have watched the movie Shallow Hal? Well, he appears in this movie, as himself, and is the responsible for changing the perception of the main actor to what beauty really means. Its all about the way you see things, right? Well, watching that seminar I was reminded that life is about movement - not just celebrating achievements but continuously pushing forward, growing, and evolving.

What This Means for You

I share this moment not just as a personal milestone but as a reminder that your journey - wherever you are right now - is shaping you in ways you might not even realize yet. Whether you're navigating a big transition, building a business, or chasing a dream that sometimes feels impossible, know this: every step counts.

The key is to keep moving. To celebrate the wins, yes - but also to recognize that each achievement is just another stepping stone to the next chapter.

Your journey is unfolding exactly as it should.

Keep going.

And thank you for being part of mine 💛

xoxo
