The Pause, the Move, and the Power of Building Something That’s Yours

I know, it’s been a little quiet over here, and for good reason.

Over the past few weeks, I made a big leap—one that involved packing up life again, crossing borders, and landing in a new place that’s both unfamiliar and full of possibility. This wasn’t just a move. It was a recalibration.
I paused certain tasks in my business, took a breath, and gave myself permission to reset. And now that the dust is (finally) settling, I want to share what this transition has taught me—not just as a social media strategist and creative entrepreneur, but as a woman who’s building a life and business on her own terms.
Entrepreneurship Isn’t a Hustle; It’s a Vision You Choose to Keep Honoring
One of the biggest myths about entrepreneurship is that we have to be “on” all the time. But if you’ve been here for a while, you know I’m not about that hustle-to-burnout pipeline. Not anymore.
Building something meaningful takes time, energy, and space to evolve. During this move, I gave myself that space—and it reminded me that pauses are part of the process. That progress can look like stillness. That showing up for your business doesn’t always mean posting every day—it can also mean resting so you can come back stronger and more aligned.
If you’ve ever felt like stepping back meant falling behind, I want to tell you: it doesn’t. It means you’re listening. And listening is what keeps your business rooted in authenticity instead of performance.
Life Abroad, Again: The Messy Beauty of Starting Over

This isn’t my first international move, but it still brings a mix of emotions—excitement, fear, awe, and vulnerability. When you're building a brand and a business that reflects you, moving to a new place isn't just a logistical challenge—it’s an emotional one too.
New rhythms, new light, new surroundings. And in the middle of all of it: the same vision. The same mission. The same commitment to helping small businesses and creatives tell their stories with clarity, beauty, and purpose.
That’s what makes this journey so powerful. Even in the middle of uncertainty, I’m still holding the core of my work close. And I’m inviting you into this next chapter with me.
Creating in the Midst of Change
What I’ve realized during this time is that creativity doesn’t wait for perfect conditions—it flows through the cracks of real life. It shows up when you’re jet lagged, when you’re furniture-hunting in a new city (I need to say it is very overwhelming too!), when your Wi-Fi isn’t working but your ideas are still pouring in.
So if you’ve been in a season of change too—whether personal or professional—this is your reminder: you don’t need to wait for the “right” moment to create. You just need to stay connected to why you started in the first place.
What’s Next: New Content, More Depth, Same Mission
Now that I’m back online with both feet in this new chapter, I’m excited to bring more of that depth-meets-design energy you know me for. Expect more storytelling, more strategic content, and more tools to help you grow a brand that’s not just seen—but felt.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re a longtime reader or just stumbled across this space, I’m so glad we’re connected.
Here’s to building boldly, living curiously, and remembering that every pause is part of the power.
Cheers,
Ingrid from The Lab
