Building a Business While Managing Self-Doubt: How to Keep Going

Ingrid Miranda
Ever felt like you’re not ‘good enough’ to succeed?

Well, let me confess that you’re not alone. And I believe that every entrepreneur, no matter how successful they are or not, has faced moments of self-doubt. That little voice questioning, "Am I really good enough? Do I have what it takes? Why me?"—it’s more common than you think. But here’s the thing: self-doubt doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you care. The key is learning how to move forward despite it.

My Story: When Self-Doubt Almost Stopped Me

And it was not long ago. I remember when I first launched my services. I knew I had the skills, the strategy, and the passion—but every time I hit “post” or sent a proposal, I felt like a fraud. Who was I to offer social media strategy when there were bigger agencies out there?

Then, one day, one of my few clients at the time told me how much my work had helped them. That was my lightbulb moment: the only thing standing in my way was my own belief system. So, I started making small mindset shifts to build confidence.

How You Can Shift Your Mindset & Build Confidence

If you’ve ever felt imposter syndrome creeping in, here are some strategies that helped me (and can help you too):

  1. Reframe Your Doubts – Instead of thinking, "I'm not an expert," tell yourself, "I'm constantly learning and improving." No one starts as an expert. Your growth is what makes you valuable.

  2. Celebrate Small Wins – We’re so focused on what’s next that we forget to acknowledge how far we’ve come. Take a moment to look at your progress. Even small wins count.

  3. Surround Yourself with Support – Find a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who remind you that you’re not alone in this journey. Having people who believe in you makes all the difference.

  4. Keep Showing Up – Confidence doesn’t come from waiting until you feel “ready.” It comes from taking action, even when you’re unsure. Every post, project, or pitch you put out is a step toward silencing self-doubt.

You’re More Capable Than You Think

Believe me, the fact that you care, that you question yourself, means you’re doing something meaningful and that you want con continue improving, growing, and learning. Don’t let doubt stop you. Instead, let it push you forward.

hell yeah!
