The Journey into Digital Marketing – Embracing the Creative Process and Playfulness

Starting my own business seemed the natural path for me. Since I was young I have played around this reality, trying new ventures while watching my parents and siblings creating their own entrepreneurial journey in front of me.


But when I began my journey into digital marketing, I didn’t quite realize that I was stepping into a world that would challenge and ignite my creativity in ways I hadn’t anticipated. As a small business owner, I faced obstacles that tested my resilience, patience, and determination—moments of self-doubt, countless hours spent learning the ropes, and the inevitable bumps along the way. But through it all, I discovered something incredibly important: the power of play and creativity in the process.


For me, digital marketing is more than just strategy, analytics, or brand building—it’s an art form. It’s a way of connection that goes beyond physical borders, and have limitless opportunities just around the corner. There’s beauty in creating something out of nothing, seeing a vision come to life on a screen, and finding ways to express a brand's identity in a way that resonates with others. But like any art form, it requires more than just skill. It demands a playful mindset, a willingness to experiment, and the courage to embrace the messy process of creation - and the journey to the ultimate goal.


I remember when I first started my business, The Social Lab. And it hasn’t been more than six months ago! But like many entrepreneurs, I felt the pressure to be perfect, to get everything just right. I spent so much time agonizing over each decision, trying to craft the "perfect" social media strategy or design. But I recently realized that the real magic happens when you let go of the need for perfection and simply play.


The creative process isn’t about rigid rules or being flawless. It’s about experimenting, exploring new ideas, and allowing yourself the freedom to try things out without fear of failure. When we give ourselves permission to play, we unlock a deeper level of creativity that leads to innovative solutions and authentic connections with our audience.


This playful mindset has not only been shaping how I approach my own business, but it’s also become a key part of how I help my clients. At The Social Lab, I focus on creating social media strategies that are both visually stunning and deeply aligned with the values and mission of each brand.
