Just as personal experiences define us, they also influence how we present ourselves to the world through the brands we create.

I miss Brazil everyday - but life abroad has shaped me to become much more present and open.

For me, as a Brazilian living in the U.S., my cultural identity is intertwined with the way I approach my business. From the food I enjoy to the way I express my values, my Brazilian roots are an integral part of how I show up in my work. The warmth, openness, and storytelling tradition of my culture shape the way I communicate with clients and create content.


When I started my social media business, I realized that embracing my cultural heritage wasn’t just about adding a personal touch to my work—it was about using my unique perspective to connect with others. The colorful, dynamic nature of Brazilian culture inspires the visual aesthetics of my brand, while my values of authenticity, creativity, and community are all directly influenced by my background.


By infusing these elements into my brand narrative, I was able to continue strong in a crowded market. I slowly understood that my cultural identity was my point of difference, my storytelling edge, and the foundation upon which I built my business.

And nothing to be shy about.

Patagonia – This brand that my husband and I are personally big fans, does an excellent job integrating environmental consciousness into their narrative, connecting their sustainable efforts to the natural landscapes of the regions where they operate. Patagonia’s brand speaks to people who share a similar love for the outdoors, reflecting a deep respect for nature—a value rooted in many cultures across the world.

  2. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna – Fenty Beauty revolutionized the beauty industry by celebrating diversity and embracing global cultural representations. Rihanna, through her Caribbean roots, brought forward an inclusive vision that made women from various cultures and skin tones feel seen, heard, and represented. The brand’s success lies in its cultural sensitivity, which not only resonates with the audience but also empowers it.

  3. Ben & Jerry’s – Known for their activism, Ben & Jerry’s integrates the values of social justice and inclusion, drawing on progressive cultural ideals. Their branding connects to the values of a community that believes in equality, environmental sustainability, and global awareness.

  1. Identify the Core of Your Cultural Identity – Start by reflecting on what your cultural background has taught you. What are the values, traditions, and stories that shaped you? This could be your family’s traditions, your local community, or even the global issues that resonate with you. This reflection will provide a strong foundation for your brand narrative.

  2. Visual Storytelling – Use colors, symbols, and styles that align with your cultural influences. For instance, Brazilian art and design are often vibrant and bold. I incorporate those elements in my visuals, making sure that the design reflects my personal and cultural values.

  3. Voice and Tone – The way you speak and interact with your audience can also be influenced by your culture. A warm, welcoming tone might reflect a Latin American culture, while a more formal or minimalistic approach might reflect European sensibilities. The voice you choose should feel authentic to who you are.

  4. Celebrate Cultural Diversity – Even if you don’t have a specific cultural background that you identify with, embrace the diversity around you. Being inclusive and recognizing the richness of different cultures can help broaden your brand’s reach and appeal.

  5. Tell Personal Stories – We are all storytellers at heart, and your background offers endless possibilities for stories that can resonate with others. Share moments from your life, your traditions, or experiences that highlight the cultural lens through which you see the world.
